Dear Friend of Birth Haven:
I am very happy ... and, yes, more than a little proud ... to tell you that Birth Haven has been celebrating its Twentieth Anniversary. Thanks to the generosity and efforts of many dedicated people, including you, we have survived good times (mostly) and hard times (occasionally). And during those 20 years, more than 400 young women and babies have passed through our doors.
The most important part of our celebration of this milestone was the recent completion of a long-planned addition to our house. This was done not to increase capacity but to make our greatly successful program even greater.
This expansion is well explained in the enclosed brochure, as is the launching of Birth Haven's first-ever Capital Campaign. Our goal is to raise $300,000 in pledges payable over three years. I am pleased to tell you that more than 80% of that goal has already been pledged.
I would like to call your attention particularly to the second panel of the brochure that lists all the services that Birth Haven ...with your help ... provides to the homeless girls who arrive here wanting to bring their babies to term. This page demonstrates why more space was needed. It also demonstrates why our success rate is so high. Every girl passing through Birth Haven is exposed to this entire program of shelter, care, and life skills.
The campaign is already well on the road to success as shown by results to date. I urge you to consider joining the bandwagon. We really need to hit our goal. Please read the brochure prayerfully. Then consider a pledge with a payment schedule that best suits you.
I deeply appreciate your participation in this campaign that is so important to the girls and babies whom Birth Haven serves and will continue to serve for many years to come.
