Life Skills Taught at Birth Haven
 Birth Haven provides much more than shelter to the young pregnant women who enter its doors. Birth Haven offers residents a tremendous opportunity to grow through its Life Skills Program. The Life Skills Program is an educational program in living and self-sufficiency. It is divided into three areas of focus: Parenting and Life Skills, Mental Health Development, and Life Enrichment Supports.
 Parenting and Life Skills subjects include but are not limited to CPR, nutrition, childcare, budgeting, cleaning and cooking, education information, adoption, and career planning. Mental Health Development subjects include trust, self awareness, self esteem, grieving, and dealing with emotional pain. Life Enrichment Supports includes drug and alcohol awareness, domestic abuse, organization and self motivation, access to social services, and affordable housing.
 Our comprehensive framework addresses a variety of issues and is continually being evaluated and revised in response to the needs of our residents. Our focus is self determination, self-sufficiency, and empowerment through the acquisition of the tools necessary to move forward.
