Referrals to Birth Haven
Referral agencies or referring professionals should contact Birth Haven’s Social Work Department at 973-579-7809 for a telephone intake.
If the preliminary screening indicates a young woman would be a good candidate for a resident at Birth Haven, an interview will be scheduled.
Candidates for residency at Birth Haven should download and complete the Admission Application, and should bring their documentation as outlined in the Criteria for Becoming a Resident at Birth Haven.

Please allow approximately two hours for the tour, interview and psycho-social assessment.
Following a successful interview, references will be contacted. A final decision will be made approximately 24 to 48 hours after the references are checked.
A moving-in day will be scheduled. New residents are not admitted on Fridays, Saturdays of Sundays. Admissions are usually at 11:00 AM with paperwork completion (parent/guardian must be available to sign for minors), laundry processing and bed selection. Please allow approximately 90 minutes for this process.
